this exit takes you north over the Ks river.
after a couple of miles, there is an exit on 35th street.
turn right onto 35th street
after about a mile, Button road appears
turn right
the driveway (red gate) is the first left on Button Road
From Topeka Blvd.
all the way north to 35th street
turn left on 35th
go about three miles to Button Road
turn left at first driveway
Karlyle Woods, owned by Washburn University, is the historic home of Karl Menninger from the 1930’s. Karl, his father and brothers started the famous Menninger Psychiatric Hospital in Topeka. The thirty-acre site offers birding opportunities and is the site of the KOS Young Birders meeting on Saturday.
